Alpine Lakes Partnership-Getting Ready for the Fall
We have a partnership with Alpine Lakes Elementary School, our local school for 3rd-5th grade students. Our church supplies a bag of food each week to students enrolled in the program. The food is designed to be used on the weekends when the students do not receive breakfast and lunch at school. How can you help? I am glad you asked! You can provide food items, or you can donate funds to purchase food for this program. Food items you would like to donate can be delivered to the children’s ministry room. The goal is to have shelf stable, individually packaged, healthy food items.
Here is a list of suggested food items:
Proteins: WF Canned Premium Chicken 12.5 Ounce, Nalley Chili – Original, COS Light Tuna Water, Dinty Moore Beef Stew 15 Ounce
Carbohydrates: Kraft Macaroni & Cheese (Boxes), Campbell's Vegetable Beef Soup, Western Family Tomato Soup, Rice A Roni (Boxes) Fruit: Dole Diced Pear Cups, Dole Diced Peaches, Seneca Applesauce Cups
Juice Boxes: Capri Sun Juice Packets
Snacks: Chocolate Pudding, Famous Amos Cookies, Granola Bars, Keebler Peanut Butter Crackers
Breakfast: Oatmeal Packages, Belvita Breakfast Bars, Nutrigrain Breakfast Bars, Poptarts
We also provide winter clothing, shoes and emergency clothing to students in need. We estimate that the annual cost of this program for one school year is approximately $15,000.00. This program is sponsored by the donations from our congregation.
